I wanted to write a post today about Lollypop to update everyone on what is going on. If you read our blog post from last week then you know that she had a seizure. We went straight to our vet to have her checked out hoping to find out what caused it. He told us that they look at a cardiovascular or a neurological issue as the cause for seizures. We had x-rays done to check for cardiovascular problems and got the results of those x-rays a few days ago.Thankfully they did not show any signs of a cardiovascular problem. Ruling that out now leads us to look into a neurological issue.
Our vet clinic does not have a neurologist on staff and so we got a referral to the University of Tennessee Veterinary Hospital. Their neurology department comes highly recommended by our vet. They have already set us up an appointment for a little over a week from now. We have received specific instructions on what to expect from our visit. It’s very likely that it will be a long day full of tests and evaluations.
Lollypop has not had any more seizures and she is acting totally normal. We continually appreciate the prayers and good thoughts that are being sent our way. I plan to document our upcoming appointment to keep everyone updated and to also help anyone else who may be going through the same experience. If you have any experience with pet seizures please feel free to share your experience in the comments below or email me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
