Day four of our vacation began with breakfast at the bus. Dad took the golf cart to P&J’s Southern Takeout, a quick service restaurant at Fort Wilderness Resort, and picked it up. The breakfast box included scrambled eggs, french toast sticks, a biscuit, Mickey Waffles, sausage, and bacon. It was all delicious (I gave away the meat!) and starting the day off with Mickey Waffles always makes the day great!
We started our day back at Animal Kingdom. We had a Fastpass for Navi River Journey from 9:05-10:05 so we went straight to Pandora once we arrived. I still can’t get over how they made those mountains look as if they are floating in midair! The ride was absolutely gorgeous! The colors, lights, and sounds really brought you into the world of Pandora and the animatronic at the end of the ride is the best one I’ve ever seen. You can see footage from the ride in the video at the end of this post.
After our ride in Pandora, we had to walk across the park to use our next Fastpass for Expedition Everest. On our way there we stopped back in front of the Tree of Life and took a few photos. On the last photo, our Photopass photographer said “group hug” and poor Brooklyn got a little squished!
Brooklyn wasn’t tall enough to ride Expedition Everest so I had booked a meet and greet Fastpass for her and mom to meet Mickey and Minnie while the rest of us rode.
The boys were pumped to ride Expedition Everest! They had seen the roller coaster drop out of the mountain when we were walking toward the ride and they both couldn’t wait to experience it. They both loved it but Branson did say he didn’t like when it went backward.
When we got off they were both asking to ride again and since the wait time was only around 20 minutes Christian and I waited in line with them to ride while dad went to find Mom and Brooklyn.
We met back up with mom, dad, and Brooklyn in Dinoland to use our last Fastpass of the morning to ride Dinosaur. It was really loud and bumpy so I put my camera away to be able to hold on tight to Brooklyn.
Everyone was hungry by the time we got out of Dinoland so we decided to get lunch. Mom, Dad, Christian, and Branson went to Flame Tree Barbecue and Brody, Brooklyn, and I went to Pizzafari. We finished our meal before everyone else so we explored some of the gift shops and had fun with silly hats.
After lunch, we decided to do some exploring and see some of the animals. These monkeys were hysterical! The one laying on it’s back is sleeping while the other one is picking stuff out of its hair.
The gorillas are always one of my favorite animals to watch. They are truly majestic creatures! This silverback was enormous!
On our walk through the trails, we got a few more Photopass photos. The kids were really into the ones where they had us make a funny face!
It was time to go back to the bus to get ready for dinner and someone was a little sleepy and took a bit of a nap on the trolly ride back to the car.
Our dinner reservation was at Mama Melrose’s Ristorante in Hollywood Studios.
The kids were happy to have an activity sheet to occupy their time while we waited for our food to arrive.
Since we had the dining plan we each recieved a salad, appetizer, entree, and dessert. There was no dessert menu but instead they brought out a sampler for the adults. Brody and Brooklyn got ice cream sundaes with Mickey sprinkles and chocolate syrup on top and Branson got a cupcake.
We had originally planned to ride a few rides after dinner but by the time we were done it was almost time for Fantasmic to start. We had booked a dinner package that included reserved seats for the show so we had a really great view of everything. By the time Fantasmic was over the kids were tired so we called it a night and made our way back to the bus.
Stay tuned for day 5 coming up soon!
